Dr. Carter graduated from Morehouse College, Atlanta Georgia, where he received his B.S. degree in biology. He received his MD from Howard University in Washington, DC. Dr. Carter began his medical career as a board certified anesthesiologist. A passion for cosmetic surgery, hormonal balancing and achieving optimal health for his patients led to a medical career change many years ago.

Is Dr. Carter a Plastic Surgeon?

No. Tumescent liposuction is not plastic surgery. It is a minimally invasive procedure. This technique requires no placement of implants or major reconstruction. Plastic surgeons are highly trained to reconstruct areas such as with face lifts and major tummy tucks, and usually utilize implants for breast and buttock augmentation. For the most part those procedures require patients to undergo general anesthesia.
